It’s a big world out there, and EVERYTHING is a whole new experience for your puppy. Like humans, puppies do not enter life with an automatic knowledge of vacuum cleaners, car rides, bicycles, parks, animals and other people. Your puppy relies on you to teach them about their environment and how the world works.
The first few months of life are the most crucial for development, and without proper socialisation, your puppy may become fearful, anxious, or anti-social.
It’s best to begin socializing your puppy as soon as possible. When you first bring your puppy home, start slowly with quiet one-on-one interactions and work your way up to interaction with multiple people. Let your puppy take things at its own pace. Your job is to provide the opportunity. It is much more productive to have frequent and very brief exposures rather than occasional prolonged exposures.
